The name, Albarku, is derived from Arabic origin and means “The Blessed One”. In Swahili the name means “blessings” and in Hausa, the language that is widely spoken in parts of Nigeria, where the majority of Margaret’s ethnicity originated, it is used as a greeting that roughly translates to “Bless you” or “God Bless you”! Therefore, every time you use the Albarku brand you are crowing your hair with “Blessings”!!!
Albarku was born out of Margaret's unwavering love and passion for her family. As a doting grandmother, she wanted to create something that would make her grandchildren proud while also providing a solution to others struggling with their curly hair.
